Artist Statement
As a New Media artist, I explore the impact of digital technology, which is deeply embedded in contemporary human life. My focus lies in the visual arts, where I investigate the interaction between digital forms and human perception.
I am particularly drawn to Glitch Art, with its dynamic style and abstract atmosphere, which enables the expression of unexpected perspectives and emotions. By engaging with glitch techniques, I integrate social realities into my artistic process, transforming errors into aesthetic and conceptual elements.
Key characteristics of my work include:
- Digital errors
- Pixel collapse
- Line breaks
- Black and white contrasts
- Bright and dark tonal interplay
These elements contribute to my installation art, photography, video art, and glitch art, serving as a medium to express my thoughts and emotions.

Negatives from Another World
Exhibition Proposal
A New Series by Nazila Karimi
This collection, Negatives from Another World, reflects my personal journey of introspection and self-exploration. A few years ago, in a state of unrest, I sought to capture my experiences in a realm beyond the tangible world.
This project documents my efforts to delve into the unknown depths of my nature, striving for self-awareness and peace. The images, walls, spaces, light, and darkness are all products of this personal journey.
Concept and Aesthetic Choices
The purpose of this exhibition is to share these emotions and provoke reflection in viewers: Have you ever experienced such a state?
I utilize black and white photography to emphasize:
- Contrast and mood
- Timelessness and abstraction
- Focus on tone and light
My process involves:
- Capturing images
- Digitally embedding and editing them
- Using solarization techniques
- Printing with digital processing
Through the interplay of body language, form, contrast, and inversion, I aim to highlight the essence of moments suspended in time.
